Sentry Bots are Helghast flying robots that appears in Killzone, Killzone 2 and Killzone 3.
Description
Sentry Bots were programmed to enforce perimeter security under all circumstances. A single sentry bot will cut down an ISA platoon in seconds with their twin mounted StA-3 Light Machine Guns[1] where its arms would typically be. Very few them were deployed during Operation Archangel due to maintenance problems with the synchronized chainguns.[2]
Killzone
Strategies
- Use a weapon with a good spread pattern so you can cover their movement easier.
- It usually takes anywhere from 15-20 direct hits from a standard assault rifle to destroy a Bot.
Killzone 2
Sentry Bots are first encountered in the mission Suljeva Village. Armed with StA-3 LMGs, the Bot unleashed a high rate of deadly fire when close. However, due to the inaccuracy of the LMG, Sentry Bots are rather ineffective at long distance attacks.[2]
Strategies
- It is best to begin firing on Sentry Bots when they are seen from a distance before they get close.
- Due to their fly capabilities, the Bots can fly in overhead and out flank the player.
- If they were to touch anything they will explode, a few lucky shots from a shotgun or heavy weapon should see the sentry bot to its destruction.
Trivia
- In Killzone 2 multiplayer, Sentry Bots served as the Helghast Air Support Bots.
