The Heavy Trooper is a Helghast enemy in Killzone 2, Killzone 3, and Killzone: Mercenary.
Description
The Heavy Trooper is a heavily armored and well equipped Helghast soldier armed with a custom StA-6 HMG. Heavies will open fire on enemies that get caught out of cover and flushes out enemies that are hiding. The Heavy is extremely well armored in a bulletproof and blast-resistant suit, making them impervious to gunfire. The only exceptions are his head and the tanks on his back.
Tactics
Heavy Troopers are vulnerable to explosives such as grenades, rocket launchers (VC9), or explosive items. Their heads are not armored, and hitting it with gunfire, or the wash of a nearby explosion, will temporarily stun them and lose sight of their target. This will also cause the Heavy to spin around and fall on his knees, and exposing his red tanks. After causing enough damage, the tanks will glow before exploding, killing the Heavy. It is advisable to stay at a safe distance to avoid the explosion, which can damage or even kill you.
Kill all other Helghast enemies before trying to take on the Heavy.
In Killzone 3, the Heavy is armed with a grenade launcher fitted to his custom HMG. If players are taking cover out of sight for too long, and especially when there are no NPCs to target, the Heavy will fire grenades into their last known location. The launched grenades emits a beeping countdown of its fuse.
