Helghast Assault is the first level of Killzone.
Plot
The Helghast launched a surprise invasion of planet Vekta. With all communications to Vekta High Command cut off, Captain Jan Templar is forced to fight his way to ISA headquarters and get in contact with his superior General Bradley Vaughton.
Templar fights his way through trenches and bunkers before entering the city. After reaching the HQ, Templar helps defend the HQ from a Helghast attack before reuniting with Vaughton. The General informs Templar about the SD Defense Network's shutdown and his plans to restore the defense network with a security key. Furthermore, the ISA have to hold out against the invasion until reinforcements from Earth arrive. Vaughton also tells Templar that he specifically chosen him for a mission to find Colonel Gregor Hakha, an infield agent who had discovered vital information for the ISA. Hakha went missing in the city's slums and the Helghast are determined to capture him. Just as Templar accepts his assignment, the HQ comes under attack.
