The ISA convoy crosses over the Corinth river.

Narville: How many?! Yes, sir. Understood. Our cruisers've got company. They're tracking more than a dozen Helghast battleships.

Sev: Twelve?! How long can they hold out?

Narville: Pray it's long enough. It's gonna be open season on our cruisers if we don't get there in time.

Sev: Sir, the rest of the convoy's scattered all over town.

Narville: I'm fully aware of the location of my troops, sergeant, but we can't afford any more hold-ups. Sevchenko, we need a route to that crater now, or none of us are leaving. You've got the HAMRs. When you see Helghast armor, you punch right into it. We'll ram us a route back home. As long as everyone follows orders, we'll be fine. Let's move like we mean it! Time's running out!

Sev and Rico boards the HAMRs.

Scene shifts to Visari Palace.

Orlock: As the senators can see, the ISA forces are in disarray. Within three hours my forces will overwhelm them. Visari's killers will not survive.

The senators applauses.

Stahl: Am I missing something here? What about the tank group on the left?

Orlock: Jorhan Stahl. Well, I'm thrilled to see that the private sector is interested in state affairs. Again.

Stahl: The ISA tank group on the left. I mean are you ignoring it on purpose, or--This is part of some strategy beyond our understanding, is it?

Orlock: You build the weapons, Stahl. I'll decide how to use them.

Stahl: Am I the only person here who is not part of this archaic thinking? I mean overwhelming numbers are simply not enough. Listen, why not bargain with the ISA? Lure them towards us. Promise them... whatever. And when they're close... all in one place... then we kill them.

Orlock: Visari may have tolerated you, Stahl. But I - am NOT - Visari.

Orlock and Stahl stands opposite of the throne.

Stahl: Unfortunately, that is abundantly clear. Does it hurt? Knowing that no matter what you do, you'll never emerge from Visari's shadow? Is that why you let him die?

Orlock pushes the throne aside.

Orlock: The Helghast will never, NEVER, bargain with the ISA. There will be no quarter.

Orlock presses a console.

Orlock: Attention all troops. This is the Admiral. Double your efforts. I want the ISA dead within the hour.

Gameplay #1

Rico [Radio]: Drivers take us in. HAMR 2. Form up on me. This is Velasquez on HAMR 4. We are sweeping left. Intercept protocol.

ISA [Radio]: Roger that, HAMR 4. Convoy proceeding to extraction point.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Contact! Multiple targets. 12 o'clock 20 high.

ISA [Radio]: The convoy is stalled. I repeat, the convoy is stalled.

Defiance [Radio]: This is Defiance. We're pushing through.

Rico [Radio]: Defiance. Hold your position. We'll clear the area first. You hear me?

Defiance [Radio]: Copy that.

After clearing the area.

Defiance [Radio]: That's it. We're clear. Defiance moving forward.

Rico [Radio]: Defiance. Stick with the convoy.

Defiance [Radio]: Negative, HAMR 4. We got this. Helghast on my nine. Engaging.

Rico [Radio]: Defiance, wait for backup.

Defiance [Radio]: Negative, HAMR 4. Captain's orders: speed is highest p- ARGH!

Defiance's tank is destroyed.

ISA [Radio]: Defiance is down. I repeat. Defiance is down.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Copy. Moving on your position. Targets 10 high, zero low.

Rico [Radio]: Take 'em out.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Targets acquired.

ISA [Radio]: Convoy's back in the game. Thanks command.

ISA [Radio]: Command, strong AA resistance up ahead.

ISA [Radio]: They're engaging us.

Rico [Radio]: Copy. We're on our way.

Overlord Dropships appears.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Incoming bandits.

ISA [Radio]: Jesus. They're firing on us!

After the dropships are destroyed.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: We're clear. HAMR 2 underway.

Rico [Radio]: All units. Push up and assist.

ISA [Radio]: Copy, HAMR 4. Nice work.

ISA [Radio]: Oh, baby. There's our cruiser. Is that the Dauntless or the Compulsion?

Rico [Radio]: It's the Compulsion. All units. We've spotted our evac. Stick together. Get everybody to the extraction. We'll plow the road.

Helghast APCs appears.

ISA [Radio]: Aw shit. APCs!

Rico [Radio]: Punch it! Drivers! Move move move!

The HAMRs start to move away from the APCs.

Rico [Radio]: Keep 'em at range. Don't let 'em touch us!

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Christ, he's right on my ass. Gunner! Keep him off us.

Rico [Radio]: Get us some breathing room. I told you to keep distance!

ISA [Radio]: Agggg. Son of a bitch!

ISA [Radio]: Fuck! It's a dead end. It's right on us!

Rico [Radio]: Keep us moving! Stay mobile.

ISA [Radio]: I can't shake him.

ISA [Radio]: More Hig Armor at our six.

Rico [Radio]: Get us out of here!

ISA [Radio]: We're breaking up!

HAMR 4 [Radio]: I got an idea.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Whoa. HAMR 4. Where the hell are you going?

HAMR 4 [Radio]: Stay on me, HAMR 2.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: We're through! We're through!

Rico [Radio]: All units, HAMR 4. Road is clear.

ISA [Radio]: Copy. Convoy's rolling.

HAMR 4 [Radio]: Here they come again!

After the APCs are destroyed.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Holy shit. We did it.

HGH Tank appears.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Heavy armor!

Rico [Radio]: Engaging!

Vanguard [Radio]: HAMR 4. This is Vanguard. Convoy's reading massive Hig buildup at your five.

Rico [Radio]: Convoy, hold position. We're trying to find a way out.

Vanguard [Radio]: We're bleeding people, HAMR 4. Enemy keeps reinforcing.

Rico [Radio]: Okay. Understood.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: More armor incoming.

Rico [Radio]: I see 'em.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Higs. 12 o'clock. 15 high.

Rico [Radio]: They got a tank!

HAMR 2 [Radio]: HAMR 4. Your one o'clock!

Rico [Radio]: Target acquired.

After the tank is destroyed.

HAMR 4 [Radio]: Nail 'em!

Rico [Radio]: HAMR 2. Break right.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Moving to flank the gun nest. Over.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: More enemy targets.

Rico [Radio]: Copy. I got your back.

HAMR 4 [Radio]: More armor moving in.

Rico [Radio]: Converging fire.

HAMR 2 [Radio]: Engaging.

Cutscene #2

Pathfinder Four Two [Radio]: This is Pathfinder Four Two, we're blocked by enemy anti-air fire. We need assistance...any assistance.

An Intruder is shot down by an arc of electricity.

Rico [Radio]: This is ALPHA. Stay put we're on our way. Come on!

Rico jumps off his HAMR. Sev runs to a wall and climbs over before seeing another Intruder being shot down. A pair of ISA troopers are being pinned down by the Helghast. Another pair are behind cover and looks to the reluctant trooper, Gutmann.

ISA Trooper: Come forward!

Gutmann: Now way. No way, man.

Sev and Rico arrives.

Sev: What are you doing? You gotta keep moving.

Gutmann: Captain Narville says we gotta take out that Arc Cannon, but those machine guns are tearing us apart. We don't have enough men.

Sev looks at Rico and scans the area.

Sev: Alright, I'm gonna get to higher ground and take out the machine guns. If I give you covering fire, you think you can get these guys to move forward?

Rico: Got it.

Rico move to Gutmann.

Rico: Hey. What's your name?

Gutmann: Gutmann.

Rico: You stick with me, alright?

Gutmann: Yeah.

Rico: COVERING FIRE!

Rico opens fire and allowing Sev to run ahead.

Gameplay #2

Rico: Move in!

Rico [Radio]: Drop 'em where they stand, people.

ISA Trooper: They just nailed another Intruder!

Rico [Radio]: We'll keep 'em busy down here. You take out those machine guns. There's a machine gun through the next door. Watch yourself.

Rico [Radio]: Go go go!

Rico [Radio]: Form up on me. Get me some breathing room!

Rico [Radio]: This place is crawling with snipers. Everyone stayed sharp.

Rico [Radio]: That's it. Move!

ISA Trooper [Radio]: We got visual on the Arc Cannon.

Rico [Radio]: Troops, get close, lay demo charges, and wipe it out.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Yes, sir.

Cutscene #3

Sev spots a Arc APC shooting down an Intruder. Rico rush behind cover.

Sev: Rico. I'm at your 10.

A Helghast machine gun nest open fires on Rico's position.

Rico: We can't get to the Arc Cannons. Take out those machine guns!

Gameplay #3

Rico [Radio]: Keep your heads down. Return fire!

After shooting the first machine gunner.

Rico [Radio]: That's one! Good shooting!

Rico [Radio]: All units. Concentrate your fire on the machine guns!

ISA Trooper [Radio]: I can't get him!

After shooting last machine gunner.

Rico [Radio]: That's it. That's the last one.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Snipers!

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Dead ahead. Third floor!

After shooting the first sniper.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Another one down.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Good one. But requesting priority fire on those snipers.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Same building. Second floor.

After killing second sniper.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Yeah!

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Other building. Second floor.

Rico [Radio]: Good shooting, but focus on the snipers.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Second floor. Building on the left.

After killing the third sniper.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Bull's-eye.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Left corner. Third floor.

After killing the fourth sniper.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Good shooting.

Rico [Radio]: There! Front building! Three floors up!

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Second floor!

After killing the fifth sniper.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Nice shot.

After killing sixth sniper.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: That's a confirmed kill.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: There's a sniper behind us.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Where? I can't see him.

Rico [Radio]: Building on the right. Fourth floor rooftop.

After killing seventh sniper.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Got him.

After killing eighth sniper.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Nice!

Rico [Radio]: Good work. Help us clear the ground troops so we can demo this thing.

Rico [Radio]: Help us mop up the ground troops.

After killing all ground troops.

Rico [Radio]: That's it. We're good! Go lay the charges.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Roger that sir.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Setting charges!

ISA troopers plants the charge on the Arc APC.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Charge planted!

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Second charge planted!

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Both charges planted, sir.

Rico [Radio]: Blow 'em to hell, Private.

The Arc APC explodes.

Cutscene #4

Sev: Head for the extraction point. Rico and I will follow in the HAMRs.

Jammer: We need assistance. I repeat. Mayday. This is Jammer. Over. Can anyone hear us?

Rico: My name is Sergeant Velasquez. I can hear you. Over.

Jammer: Oh, thank god. We're in quadrant 4-4-1. We've been cut off and need assistance.

Rico: Alright, stay calm, Jammer. Send me your exact coordinates and we'll come get you.

Narville: That's a negative, Velasquez! Jammer, hand tight. Intruders are on their way. You have your orders, Velasquez. Stick to the plan and clear the path to the extraction point. NOW!

Rico and Sev are suddenly alerted to a large stomp. They look around until they see the leg of a MAWLR. Everyone look up in shock at the gargantuan mech. The MAWLR fires an arc at the Compulsion.

Scene shifts to the bridge of the Compulsion.

ISA Trooper: Dispersive armor is holding.

Mandaloniz: Captain Narville, we can't hold our position much longer. If you're going to get here, do it fast.

Scene shifts back to Sev and Rico.

Sev: We're gonna need new transport. Come on. Get to your evac posts.

Sev and Rico walks past dead ISA troopers and reach a pair of EXOs. They remove the dead pilots off and board them.

Gameplay #4

Rico [Radio]: Man, this thing's in rough shape. You might wanna test your weapons to see if they're working. This is Velasquez in EXO Command. Convoy, what's your status?

ISA Convoy [Radio]: We're spread pretty thin, command.

Rico [Radio]: Okay. We're back on track. Follow us in.

ISA Convoy [Radio]: Roger that.

When reaching the convoy.

Rico [Radio]: Look. There's the convoy.

Rico [Radio]: Two Arc Cannons ahead.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: We need assistance Command!

Rico [Radio]: Moving in. I got your back.

Rico [Radio]: Incoming armor. Locking on.

After destroying the tank.

Rico [Radio]: Good shooting.

After destroying the Arc Cannons.

Rico [Radio]: Arc Cannons are down. Road is clear.

ISA Convoy [Radio]: Appreciate it, Command.

When coming across a bridge with Helghast on it.

Rico [Radio]: Heads up. Twelve o'clock. Ten high. Hit the bridge!

Rico [Radio]: Multiple targets. Jesus. We gotta clear the whole place out or nobody's getting to the extraction.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: Look out! That thing's firing mortars into the area!

ISA Trooper [Radio]: They're all over us!

Rico [Radio]: Hang tight. I'm on my way!

Rico [Radio]: There's still a tank out here. Do you see him?

After the last tank is destroyed.

Rico [Radio]: All armor is down. Let's mop up the ground troops.

After all enemies are cleared.

Rico [Radio]: That's the last of 'em. Fantastic work. Vanguard, get your asses in gear.

ISA Convoy [Radio]: Convoy is officially breaking up, command. We're in serious shit out here.

Cutscene #5

Sev and Rico's EXOs race across the ruins while being chased by a MAWLR. The mech fires its Arc Cannon, sending the EXOs across the ground before crashing.

Jammer [Radio]: Captain Narville, this is Jammer. Do you read? Our platoon is pinned down by heavy enemy fire.

Sev exits his cockpit before being founded by Rico, who helps him up.

Jammer [Radio]: Captain Narville, we can't stay here. Where are those Intruders?

Narville: This is Narville. I'm sorry. If they didn't make it... There's no-one else I can send.

Rico: I'll go.

Narville: Velasquez. Stick to your orders!

Rico: Fuck your orders. I didn't come here to run from the Helghast. I don't leave people behind. Hold on, Jammer. I'm coming.

Sev: Rico...! I get it but we don't have time.

Rico: I gotta do this man. I'll meet you at the extraction point.

Sev: Hell no. I'm with you.

Rico: This was on me buddy. Besides you gotta tell Narville to wait, okay?

Rico departs.

Gameplay #5

Helghast Trooper: Don't let them escape! Kill them all!

Narville [Radio]: This is Captain Narville to all ISA troops. Get to your evac.

ISA Trooper [Radio]: We can't get to you. There's Helghast everywhere.

Narville [Radio]: Don't give up, son. We'll hold this position as long as we can, but we are out of time.

Cutscene #6

Sev reach the extraction point. A MAWLR appears and opens fire on the Compulsion. Everyone on the ship's bridge braces the impact.

Mandaloniz: Damage report!

ISA Trooper: The last blast took out all electronics on G deck. Rerouting system.

Mandaloniz: What about the other cruisers?

ISA Trooper: The Dauntless reports minor damage. And the Arcturus has safely reached orbit.

Mandaloniz: Thank god. Looks like we're going home.

The MAWLR fires again at the Compulsion.

Mandaloniz: Tell Narville he has to move NOW!

Scene shifts to Narville and the ground forces.

Narville: Goddamn, this isn't a drill! Get to your transports! MOVE! Sevchenko! Give me your hand!

Narville lifts Sev onto his Intruder.

Narville: Where the hell is Rico!?

Sev: I don't know!

The Intruder takes off.

Sev: No, no wait! What about Rico?

Narville: I'm sorry Sev.

Rico and Jammer's group spots the Intruders.

Rico: Hey! Hey, Narville!

Sev: There's Rico!

Rico: Hey!!! GET TO COVER! NOW!

The Dauntless, having taken heavy damages, begins to fall. It nearly crashes onto Rico and the others. Narville's flight passes the crash site.

Narville: Nearly there! This is Captain Narville contacting all surviving personnel. Retreat to emergency fallback locations. I repeat. Emergency protocol five-niner-echo is in effect.

The Compulsion is shot right before everyone's eyes.

Narville: God help us.
