At the end of the First Extrasolar War, Earth's ISA forces had crushed the rogue colony of Helghan The victory did not bring peace, but instead brought humiliation, hardships and bitter resentment. Driven by the vision of Scolar Visari, the population of Helghan transformed from a defeated nation to a military superpower. They would become humanity's greatest threat. They called themselves the Helghast.. Provoked into war, the neighbouring planet of Vekta, launched an invasion fleet to deal with Visari. Within seconds of entering Helghan's atmosphere, ground-to-space defenses ripped the fleet apart. Uncountable lives were lost over the next days. But against all hope a small elite unit managed to fight their way into the heart of Helghan nation. Visari's Palace. With the ISA forces on his own doorstep, Visari resorted to extreme measures. The nuclear devastation of his own capital, the city of Pyrrhus.

Orlock: My Autarch. All preparations have been made.

Visari: Where are Radec and Stahl?

Radec and Stahl greets and salute Visari.

Stahl: The package is ready for delivery sir.

Visari enters and greets the senators and his daughter Hera.

Hera: Father...

A camera pans on Visari.

Visari: My people. Sons and daughter of Helghan. On this day, as our enemy's ships burn away in orbit.

Radec and Stahl oversees the delivery of the Red Dust warhead. Radec executes a Helghast soldier.

Visari: As their bodies lie broken in our streets... We are once again reminded of the depths of their depravity. For years we have suffered unbearable hardships. Banished by our enemies to die... from disease... from famine. They scarred us. They weakened us. But that time... has passed. For years we worked away on empty stomachs, slowly rebuilding our strength... our pride... and our nation. But that time... has passed. All these years I have been humbled by the honor to lead you. Ever, EVER onwards. From this day. Till the end of days.

Orlock: Sir, we have to move. The ISA are here.

Six Months Later

Scolar Visari's Memorial

Orlock: Six months ago... Our enemies murdered a great man. Scolar Visari. Our nation's father. Today we remember the hope he gave us. The purpose that he gave us. The vision he gave us. A vision in which the Helghast people reclaim their rightful place in this universe. Years from now, we will tell our children of this day. The day his vision became our reality.

Gameplay

Stahl Arms Deep South Facility

Helghast Trooper: You know the drill. Report in with the desk sergeant.

Desk Sergeant: You've been assigned to weapons testing.

Helghast Trooper: Wait. They're taking him to the broadcast room now sir. Yes sir. You two on lab duty? Go report for weapons testing.

Helghast Trooper: The armorer wants to see you. He's at the far end of the weapons range.

Helghast Armorer: Anyone working in sensitive areas of the facility needs clearance from me. Before you begin, load up on ammo. It's in the crate here, by the booth.

After loading up ammo.

Helghast Armorer: Let's start with your assault rifle. Destroy the targets in the centre of the range.

After destroying the targets.

Helghast Armorer: Good job, now it's time for sidearm training. Take the pistol on the counter.

After picking up a StA-18 Pistol.

Helghast Armorer: Destroy the close targets on the range.

After destroying the targets.

Helghast Armorer: Good. Reload your sidearm before moving on. Alright, now switch back to your rifle.

After switching to rifle.

Helghast Armorer: Try shooting those far targets on the range.

After shooting targets.

Helghast Armorer: You can see that target was hard to hit from far away. Sight your weapon to Zoom in on targets for a more accurate shot.

After shooting targets.

Helghast Armorer: These static targets don't shoot back, but the ISA will. Ducking behind cover will keep you alive a lot longer. Use that metal plate for cover.

After taking cover.

Helghast Armorer: You can peek up to see your targets while in cover. Give it a try.

Helghast Armorer: Try shooting while you peek from cover.

After shooting target while peeking.

Helghast Armorer: Finally, sight your weapon while peeking from cover to shoot that far target.

After shooting target.

Helghast Armorer: All right. You know what you're doing. Yeah. He's clear.

Helghast Trooper: Chairman Stahl wants you in the broadcast room immediately.

Helghast Trooper: Up these stairs. You don't want to keep the Chairman waiting.

Helghast Cameraman: Go to three.

Cutscene #2

Commodore: Are you guys the executioners? Right over there.

The two Helghast soldiers walk to their position, a pair of stationary StA-5X Arc Cannons.

Stahl: And I know what this nation needs. And I will cut out this disease of compliance and subjugation. So to honor Visari, tomorrow we launch the greatest military campaign in our history. And to celebrate that I will give you justice... revenge... and the death of his killers.

Stahl gestures to Jason Narville. The Helghast wielding the Arc Cannon prepares to execute Narville, who closes his eyes. But suddenly, the executioner turns his weapon on Stahl.

Stahl: What?

The executioner unmask himself and reveals to be Tomas "Sev" Sevchenko.

Stahl: You!

Sev: Yeah. Me.

Sev fires his Arc Cannon.
