Riot Troopers are Helghast Security personnel served in crowd control or an interrogation unit.

Tactics

Riot Troopers are heavy armored soldiers equipped with VC30 Sickle shotguns and riot shields, which are resistant (but not impervious) to small arms fire. They use their shields to converge on threats and use their shotguns for close quarters combat.

However, their shields are not used for flak protection, and therefore grenades and other types of explosives are recommended for ensuring distractions and drawbacks or lethal kills. They can be distracted with the OWL and are vulnerable to being flanked.
